SUJI MATAR UPMA

Ingredients:---

Suji - 1 cup,
Ghee - 1 1/2 tsp,
Oil- 3 tsp,
Sarson (mustard seeds) - 1 tsp,
Channe ki dal (Bengal gram dal) - 1 tbsp,
A few curry leaves,
Big onon - 1 (finely chopped),
Shelled peas - 1/2 cup,
Water - 4 cups,
Lemon juice - 1 tsp,
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp,
Salt to taste,

Method
1. Roast suji with ghee on low flame in a kadhai till it starts to change colour and gives out a nice smell. Remove suji from kadhai.
2. Heat oil in a non stick kadhai. Reduce flame.
3. Put sarson & channe ki dal. Do not let the dal turn brown.
4. When it splutters, add curry leaves and onion. Fry till onions turn transparent.
5. Add peas. Fry for 1 minute.
6. Add water. Add lemon juice.
7. Add salt & red chilli powder. Boil. Cover & cook on low flame till peas & dal turn soft.
8. Gradually add the suji, stirring constantly, to avoid lumps.
9. Keep mixing well till the water dries up. Cook for a few more minutes.
10. Remove from fire.
11. To serve, pack hot upma in a bowl & invert on to the serving plate.
